The European BIRTUOSS project has published its Layman’s Report, an informative document that summarises, in a clear and accessible way, the main objectives, actions and results achieved over the course of the project’s three-year duration.

The report outlines the BIRTUOSS journey and the development of the Opengela model, designed to provide comprehensive support to communities and families during the rehabilitation and regeneration of their neighbourhoods.

Using a simple, visual format, it sets out the key experiences gained throughout the project, the results achieved and the lessons learnt from the work carried out. The document also highlights the potential of community outreach offices as a tool for facilitating and supporting urban regeneration processes.

BIRTUOSS, developed with the support of the European Commission’s LIFE programme, has enabled progress to be made in consolidating and expanding the Opengela model, building on the pilot projects carried out in Otxarkoaga and Txonta and extending this approach to new neighbourhoods in the Basque Country.
